What is one of the first things a potential visitor does before coming to your church? Research shows that most people do exactly what I’ve done and look online to find out some information. What times do you meet? Where are you located? What activities does your church offer for their children? Do you have a nursery? Your website is the new entry point into your church or ministry and your first chance to make an impression. A well-designed website can reflect the quality of your ministry and the culture of your church.
Beyond that, having a website can also be a ministry in itself. Besides pointing people to your church, websites can now be much more interactive by streaming audio and video of your services, collecting prayer requests from the community and sharing them with the ministries of your church, providing up-to-date information about upcoming events, and giving members a forum to share and connect with one another. The possibilities for outreach are endless.
With the way people communicate today, websites play an integral role. They can connect not only with church members but also to their local community,shut-ins, college students, those abroad or traveling, and more. Take the time to make sure your website is reaching its potential for reaching people.
Many churches want the kind of site I'm describing, but they either don't have the time or don't know how to put it together. SnapShot Web makes it possible to make a great site with minimal technical skill, but there is still some skill involved in maximizing your site's potential with custom graphics and an attractive layout. To help meet this need, I have started a site (Websterville.net) where churches and others can hire me to design their sites for them using the SnapShot Web framework. This means you can have a great custom-designed site that is easy for you and your church members to maintain on your own. Or if you would like to have someone maintain the site for you, I can do that as well. Church webpages can be an important part of your church's ministry, and I'm here to help you reach that potential.
