A few years ago a church could get away with having a website that was nothing more than informational – a site that merely answered basic questions about the time and location of the weekly service. A strictly informational website like this is called a “brochure website” because its content is static. It basically serves the same purpose as a tri-fold brochure that you might pick up in a hotel lobby.
The time for brochure websites has come and gone.
A church or ministry website should be interactive. There should be something for me to do on your site. Is there a survey that I can fill out? Can I comment on a recent blog post? Can I subscribe to your podcast or watch videos from recent messages? Can I participate in a discussion group? Can I register for event? Can I listen to a recent sermon? Can I share a prayer request?
The good news is that transforming a brochure site into an interactive site is easier than you might first assume. On top of that, managing an interactive site doesn’t need to take as much time or cost as much money as it once did. There are lots of great and affordable ways that you can add some interactivity to your site.
Carve out a little time to spend on www.convergejrhigh.org. You’ll find plenty of ways to interact on the site.
